After the baby is born - the first week

For us it is important that you as a new parent feel secure in your parenthood. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions that you feel you need an answer to.

Our postnatal care is designed to fit your needs. The time spent at the hospital is individually based and can range from six hours after birth to a few days.

First week and forward

During the first week after birth, BB Stockholm is responsible for the care of mother and baby, the follow up visit, as well as giving any advice.

The following days after you have come home, you will be contacted via a video or telephone call. Thereafter, a physical appointment will be made for a health control of both mother and baby. We are available for contact all hours of the day during the first week after labor.

After the first week of labor, BVC and the midwifery clinic (BMM) will be responsible for your care and support.

During the first week after birth, BB Stockholm is responsible for the care of mother and baby. Advice during the baby's first week

You can call this number if you have questions about your baby up to one week after birth. Call 08-123 571 73. If the baby is more than one week old, contact the BVC you have chosen.

Hearing test reception

There will be a plan before going home for when the baby will have its hearing test. Call 08-123 571 13 if you need to change your time.

Follow-up visit at the hospital

There will be a plan before leaving the hospital for when you have a follow-up visit to the hospital. Call 08-123 588 67 if you need to change your time.

Maternity clinic and specialist maternity care

Urgent matters for those who have given birth: 08-123 578 88, dial 2. Planned follow-up at Specialist Maternity Care for those who have given birth: 08-123 570 20.

Breastfeeding clinic

At the breastfeeding clinic we offer extended breastfeeding support. You can contact us when your baby is one week old. You can reach us at 08-120 555 91.

In emergency situations or when there is a need for urgent help, call Sweden's emergency number 112.

BB Stockholm bedriver hälso- och sjukvård under graviditet och barnafödande, eftervård samt barnhälsovård. Vi bedriver verksamhet vid fyra barnmorskemottagningar, en ultraljudsmottagning och en barnavårdscentral med tillhörande amningsmottagning. Sedan hösten 2024 kan BB Stockholm även erbjuda vårdformen Min Barnmorska. Patienter och blivande och nyblivna föräldrar har ett stort inflytande på vården. Vår övergripande strategi är att hälso- och sjukvård ska bedrivas med respekt, engagemang och kvalitet.
